Vietnam War
The Vietnam war took a lot of young farmers that helped a ton on farm, because their names were in the draft and many were drafted. With people gone farmers had to focus in on one main crop and this was the first mass specialization by farmers and this is still continued today in our society.
Economically the war costed 173 billion dollars and in today's money that's over 800 billion dollars and this put great stress on the american government which caused less relief for some farmers. |

Internet and Cell Phones:
Cell phones in farming made it a lot more efficient. With a cell phone workers could communicate with each other on what to do and how to do it. Farmers could also communicate with other farms for sales or just some helpful advise on things. With the Internet at the farmers control they could market their crops all over the nation and have a much wider consumer range. |
